Woodson Energy Storage

Woodson Energy Storage is a 300-megawatt-hour Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project that will bring sustainable, renewable energy to support the local grid. This project will be located in Oakland County, Michigan on approximately 20 acres of privately owned land.

Adding energy storage to the electrical grid allows extra power to be stored when demand is low, which is then used when demand for energy increases. Woodson Energy Storage will therefore help to reduce or avoid price spikes and supply shortfalls.

This project could be operational as soon as 2029 with the potential to provide taxpayers, school districts, hospitals, and the local government with reliable economic benefits for years to come.
